Gillingham win’s the car! And the 3-D Nationals! May 21, 2010
 May 21-23, Yankton, South Dakota

Yankton, South Dakota, the final stop for the NFAA 3-Star tour is the sight of the Dakota Classic, the NFAA 3-D Nationals, and the 3-Star Tour Car Shoot-off for everyone that shot all three tour events.  Gold Tip Pro Staffer Tim Gillingham was three arrows away from sweeping the weekend in the Men’s Pro Freestyle Division.  Recently signed, Gold Tip staffer Gary Smith, Jr.,   was leading the tournament with his Pro Hunter 5575’s and Gillingham was in second after the first Day of shooting in the Classic in some very windy conditions.  That just goes to show the accuracy of these Gold Tip shafts.  The Car Shoot-off is Saturday night and when it was all said and done Tim Gillingham walked with the keys to a new Pontiac G-5 with several Ultralight Pro 300shafts in the 1 ½” bulls-eye.  Everything finished up on Sunday and when it was all said and done Gillingham finished 2nd in the Classic with 3 other Gold Tip shooters in the top 10 in the Men’s Pro Division.  When the Classic is finished the final round of the 3-D Nationals got underway and what an epic battle it was.  Tim Gillingham shot 25 out of 30 twelve rings to come back from second place to tie Danny McArthy with two targets to go.  Three shots later in a shoot-off, a final 10 ring on a javelina target at 45 yards,  Gillingham walked away with the win.  Congrats to Tyler Pierra for his 1st place 3-D win in the Amateur Free Style Class and Blake McDonnell for his 1st place win in the Amateur Bowhunter Class in the Classic.   We are seeing more and more Gold Tip arrow in target events every year in a a venue that has been dominate in the past by carbon-aluminum arrows.  Every year National Championships are won with premium Gold Tip carbon shafts.   “Can your hunting arrow do this?”
